Miad urban landscape
Wooden structure 31cmx31cm April 2016 Brandon Martin Exhibition text For the project of making a urban landscape the main goal of the project was to make a environment in which light could be played with striving to make the place peaceful and warming.Which was what i intended to do as a made plenty of abstract figures with the point of also adding a futuristic look to it ,and placing them where light could be played with giving it its main objective of making the place peaceful. |
Planning
(1)First i started by making different sketches of what would be the base where the light would be coming from
(2)I choose the final sketch
(3)give the wood to Mr chad so he could cut it for me
(4)start making some abstract shapes with the wood
(5)play around with where to place them
Process
First I made several sketches after finally choosing the one i gave the wood block to Mr Chad so he could cut the lines for me. After that I made several abstract wood shapes using a carving tool then I sanded the pieces out to give them a smother finish After i was done came the hard part having to place the pieces in place where they would be convenient in their interaction with the light for this part of the process i did change my mind with almost all the pieces as i placed them in several ways to see which way was the best after finally knowing where i wanted all the pieces i then glued them sticking them to the wood and clamping them on to dry.

Meaning
I intended to make a urban landscape that would be viewed and would surprise you giving it a look no where else seen before ,a different view. The type of different where there is still that warm comfort which was my placement for some of the objects being in specific places as i wanted to play with the light revolving my project keeping it isolated in some places, in others a bit more open ,each figure placed being connected to one another.I thought of how this project has many meaning as art is evolution and up close you might see a plane design of a potential urban landscape but I see many meaning I see the future I am the future.

Artistic inspiration
For my artistic inspiration i choose Daniel Libeskind the reason i choose him specifically was because himself being an architecture doesn't stick with the normal he like to do abstract structures still giving the comfort in the places he designs.

Reflection
Throughout the project i had many ups and downs as i managed to do pretty good for some parts and struggle on others but i am glad of the outcome I like the final result of my project and i believe i delivered i project that could be a potential landscape.
